Photosynthèse

Photosynthèse, lenticular print, 2020.

Photosynthèse is a lenticular artwork that displays a wavering forest made of millions of particles that shift from blurry to sharp. Changing depending on the viewer’s point of observation and movements, the focal distance and shallow depth of field reveals zones of the scene while others fade away. Phenomena of visual perception are also probed by the autostereoscopic display as a slightly different image is seen with each eye. The work invites the viewer to a form of active contemplation looking through ghostly trees and terrain, luminous figures that seem to emerge from fog and darkness.
