Variations for Strings and Winds

This interactive audiovisual piece transports the user to spaces captured by a camera attached to a kite whose line and wings sounds are amplified. Oriented toward a person that flies it with a limited control, the elements determine the points of view on the scenes as the instability grows during the experience of the piece.

Part of projects initiated at SIM Residency in Iceland in 2014 for which I was supported by the Canada Council for the Arts and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec. ARTVstudio’s interactive showcase version was developed thanks to an ICI ARTV bursary in digital arts.

Presented as social media interventions on Vine, Instagram and Facebook between 2014 and 2017, as an interactive installation at ARTVstudio (2016) and as a video installation at Expression (2019), Variations for Stings and Winds transports the user to spaces captured by a camera attached to a kite whose line and wings sounds are amplified. Oriented toward a person that flies it with a limited control, the elements determine the points of view on the scenes as the instability grows during the experience of the piece.
