What Persists, 2021.

What Persists consists of a floor projection, light interventions in the toilets, workshop and storage room of Bang Centre’s Espace Séquence. Feeding itself from satellite imagery of the bauxite residue site in Jonquière (Québec) collected since the 1980s and other data about the location, a generative adversarial network presents a non-linear bauxite residue latent space that shifts between the present, recents years, hypothetical distant pasts and speculative futures.
